Data Retention & Deletion Policy

How long we keep your data

Check-in data

Public check-ins are visible on the live map for approximately 2 hours, then automatically removed from public view. Anonymized, aggregate check-in data (park-level statistics with no personally identifiable information) may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement.

Account data

Your account information (email, display name, preferences) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, this data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Payment data

Payment records are managed by Stripe and retained according to Stripe's data retention policy and applicable financial record-keeping requirements. PawVibe retains a record of your subscription status (active, cancelled, dates) but never your card details.

Park Friends / Playdate data

Park Friends matches and playdate requests are retained while your account is active. Blocking a user immediately removes the match record. All social data is deleted when your account is deleted.

Analytics data

Aggregate analytics (page views, feature usage) are retained indefinitely but contain no personally identifiable information.

Requesting deletion

You can request deletion of your data by:

Deleting your account from your account settings page (deletes all personal data within 30 days)
Emailing hello@pawvibe.ca with the subject line "Data Deletion Request"

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will confirm within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. We will notify you by email when deletion is complete.

What deletion includes

Your account profile (email, display name, preferences)
Your check-in history
Your Park Friends matches and playdate data
Your alert preferences and saved parks
Your subscription record (Stripe retains payment records per their policy)

What deletion does not include

Anonymized, aggregate park-level statistics that cannot be traced back to you
Records required by law or financial regulation
