1. Who we are

2. What we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate PawVibe:

  • Account information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
  • Check-in data: Park name, crowd estimate, condition tags (mud, water, dog size), and approximate location at time of check-in. Check-ins are anonymous to other users.
  • Device information: Browser type, device type, and IP address for security and analytics.
  • Payment information: If you subscribe to Pack Leader, payment is processed by Stripe. PawVibe never sees or stores your card number.

3. How we use your information

  • To display real-time park conditions to the community
  • To send park alerts if you opt in (Pack Leader feature)
  • To match Park Friends if you opt in (Pack Leader feature)
  • To process Pack Leader subscription payments via Stripe
  • To improve PawVibe based on aggregate usage patterns
  • To respond to your support requests

4. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
  • We do not run persistent background location tracking.
  • We do not display your real name, phone number, or identity to other users in check-ins.
  • We do not use your data for behavioural advertising.

5. Check-in privacy

All public check-ins expire after approximately 2 hours. Once expired, they are removed from the live map and are no longer visible to other users. Historical check-in data may be retained in aggregate form for analytics (no personally identifiable information).

6. Data sharing

We share data only with:

  • Supabase: Database and authentication hosting (servers in Canada/US).
  • Stripe: Payment processing for Pack Leader subscriptions.
  • Vercel: Website hosting and analytics.
  • Mapbox: Map tile rendering (no personal data shared, only tile requests).
  • Google Analytics: Aggregate website usage analytics.

7. Cookies and tracking

PawVibe uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic analysis. See our Cookie Policy for details.

8. Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and Alberta's PIPA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing (alerts, Park Friends)

10. Children

PawVibe is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect.
